ǿý Launches “Small Joys with Hanif Abdurraqib”
COLUMBUS, OHIO, JUNE 15, 2021 – ǿý is launching a new podcast entitled with host, poet and bestselling author, Hanif Abdurraqib.
“I saw this podcast as a unique opportunity to talk to and learn from artists with local roots,” said Abdurraqib. “I also saw it as an opportunity to have open and candid conversations with people that didn’t feel like traditional interviews – getting to the heart of what has kept people going in the past year. ǿý was the perfect platform for this, as a station that is tapped into the community here and has been serving it for many years, and I’m glad they offered me this opportunity to collaborate.”
Across eight episodes, Abdurraqib talks with writers and artists about what inspires them – an intriguing deep-dive that will interest fans of literature, music, comic books, pop culture and anyone with an affinity for the arts. New episodes drop weekly on Tuesdays:

is a poet, essayist, and cultural critic from Columbus, Ohio. He is a bestselling author and frequent contributor to NPR and The New York Times. His book, Go Ahead in the Rain: Notes to A Tribe Called Quest, became a New York Times Bestseller, was a finalist for the Kirkus Prize, was longlisted for the National Book Award and was named one of the best non-fiction books of 2019 by New Yorker magazine. His latest book is A Little Devil in America: Notes in Praise of Black Performance. The title of the podcast, “Small Joys,” is taken from one of Abdurraqib’s essays.
