It鈥檚 a Politics and a Pint edition of Snollygoster. As we did in August, we gathered about 200 of our closest friends at Seventh Son Brewing in Columbus, where we talked politics while enjoying craft beers.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine鈥檚 working group on property taxes made some modest recommendations, which could relieve some people of their property tax burden. But there was nothing particularly bold.
One thing property tax reformers said Ohio must do is reduce the number of taxing jurisdictions in the state. There are thousands of them鈥攈undreds of municipalities, hundreds of school districts, 1,300 townships, scores of developmental disabilities boards, metro parks, zoos. But eliminating them would be difficult.
The governor鈥檚 property tax working group did look at that controversial issue. And what does it recommend?
It recommends that the state form another working group to make recommendations to 鈥渋ncentivize efficiencies and sharing resources among government entities.鈥�
