Access to legal assistance can be life changing for thousands of Americans forced to work their way through the legal system.

In rural Ohio, lawyers are in short supply, leaving thousands of Ohioans with little in the way of legal aid or accessible help.

This disparity is not marginal. In Franklin County, there is one lawyer for every 347 people, while in Madison County, the number is one lawyer for every 3,000 people.

This can have devastating consequences as the complexities of the legal system make navigating it without a lawyer incredibly difficult.

On this hour of All Sides, we’re talking about the lack of lawyers in rural Ohio.
