President Joe Biden visited Northeast Ohio Thursday to announce $1 billion in funding for Great Lakes cleanup and restoration.

The Black River is wide at its mouth, with parallel banks encased by metal bulkheads. It鈥檚 an industrial river, but there is wildlife, like a hissing pair鈥�

The US Environmental Protection Agency has designated 4 Ohio rivers as 鈥淎reas of Concern鈥� 鈥� and Lorain County鈥檚 Black River is one of them. This week, the EPA awarded more than half a million dollars to Lorain for Black River restoration projects.
