Downtown Columbus Inc. is partnering with Columbus police and downtown businesses to use both public and private security camera feeds to prevent crimes.

Police are working to determine a motive for the shooting.

Former Columbus police officer Adam Coy was convicted last November of killing Andre Hill in 2020. Coy says prosecutors erred when they didn't tell his defense team about an expert witness.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Joel Mefford worked with John Castillo, another Columbus police officer, to steal and traffic cocaine in 2020.

James G. Jackson died Thursday.

Police said the deaths were considered homicides, but did not have further details.
