Columbus and dozens of other cities filed a federal lawsuit after the Trump administration said it would pull money from "sanctuary cities." Columbus has not declared itself a sanctuary city.

The city stands to lose around $1 million in grant funding to fight homelessness unless it complies with the Trump administration’s executive orders.

In a federal lawsuit, former assistant cheerleading coach Siobhan St. John alleges she was discriminated against because of her advocacy for Black employees.

The city has already spent close to $400,000 to plant more than 1,200 trees, with many of them in historically Black neighborhoods.
