Modernized assembly lines at Honda's Ohio plants allows the company to easily adapt to changing market trends.

Japanese automakers Honda and Nissan have announced plans to work to a merger, forming the world's third-largest automaker by sales as the industry undergoes changes in its move from fossil fuels.

Honda said there are no reports of injuries or deaths related to the issue. It is the second major recall this month at Honda, after 1.7 million vehicles were found to have potential steering issues.

Honda EV Hub in Ohio will produce petrol, hybrid-electric and battery electric vehicles on the same manufacturing line.

The CR-V will initially only be available for lease in California. Honda said California is the only state with the necessary hydrogen fueling infrastructure.

The recall includes the Honda Civic, Accord, CR-V, Fit, HR-V, Insight, Odyssey, Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline, as well as Acura MDX, RDX and TLX, from model years between 2020 and 2022.

The center, slated to open in April 2025, is expected to accelerate domestic development of battery cells and manufacturing technology.

The recall covers certain CR-Vs from 2007 through 2011 that were sold or registered in states where salt is used to clear roads in the winter.
