Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano, Columbus City Schools' Board President Michael Cole and conservative think tank researcher Greg Lawson spoke about property taxes at the Columbus Metropolitan Club. They all agreed an effort to eliminate property taxes in Ohio isn't good.

April 1 is the deadline for property owners who disagree with the auditor's evaluation of their property to file a complaint with the Franklin County Board of Revision.

On average, the properties saw a 40% increase in appraised value, but properties in competitive areas like Whitehall saw bigger increases upwards of 68%.

Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano expects the 2023 appraisal to send property values up by a historical 30 to 40%.
